One Fifth Avenue

on saturday and sunday 8th and 9th october i went to the big bad wolf book fair. and bought more than 10 books ( i don't remember the exact number) for RM 156…hmmm let me count it again 8 novels, 3 cook books, 2 puzzle books, 3 reference books. so total is 16…so 16 books for only RM156.

so i start the reading with one fifth avenue by candace bushnell..

i found the book is good. it keep me reading until the end to know what is going to happen next.

the book is about a few person that resided at one of the best apartment at fifth avenue. we will come across person like enid merle, her nephew,philip oakland, mindy and james gooch together with their son, sam, an actress named schiffer diamond and also paul and annalisa rice. the other characters are billy litchfield and lola fabrikant.

enid merle was gossip columnist age aged 70 something. while her nephew philip oakland is 40 something film writer who won pulitzer prize. he was working on his drama series' script when he hired lola fabrikant to be his researcher.

schiffer diamond is an actress that married twice. after failed for the second marriage she came back to the fifth avenue.

philip and schiffer were a couple when they at their 20s but there were something between them that make them not to be together.

mindy and james gooch are married that lived at the lower level at the building. together with them was their son, sam.

mindy is an executive at a company while james is on his second book.

the newcomer was a rices. annalisa was a former lawyer in washington and her husband was an analyst. paul managed to get millions of dollar that makes them affordable to buy the triplex. they got the unit after mrs louise houghton died in a storm.

billy litchfield was some kind of art broker that help the rich and famous bought their piece of art. and he is very well known among the residents of the one fifth avenue.

in this 564 pages novel, u will find the activities of rich and famous at the apartment. i found this book is entertaining. u will find, who's with who, the scandals, the death, the success, the not-so-lucky fate and the happy ending.

for those who likes simple reading, well u can try this one. this is the first novel by candace bushnell i read. i bought a few of her books at the book fair. so i hope i can finish them all and will update later.
